Do we seriously need another Super Junior subgroup?

Father SM released yet another SuJu subgroup named Super Junior Happy and the six fruit-loops of this group are Lee Teuk, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin and Eun Hyuk.

Super Junior Happy will release their single beginning of June and the title song “Cooking? Cooking!” will feature some fruity moves as the picture suggests.

It looks like Father SM is aggressively pushing these subgroups after SuJu M brought home the ”Asia’s Most Popular New Group” at the 5th Annual Music King Awards hosted by the China Cultural Arts Fund Organization and Guangdong TV.

But seriously, we don’t need another Super Junior subgroup with strange names.

Korean version Hanayori Dango set to charm in 2008

Following the mega popularity of Meteor Garden first in Taiwan back in 2001 and then subsequently Hanayori Dango in Japan in recent years, Korea is also set to have its very own version of Meteor Garden in 2008.


Popular Japanese anime, Hanayori Dango will be adapated into a Korean drama. The Taiwanese and Japanese version of the television drama has achieved phenomenal ratings during its run and the Japanese version which was shown on cable television achieved pretty good ratings and earning lots of fans in the process. The company which will be producing this is Group Eight whose previous works were Goong S: Prince Hours and Fantasy Couple. The Japanese rights holder decided to work with Group Eight after learning about it’s production capability after viewing Goong S.

By releasing this exciting news first, Group Eight has created lots of anticipation and hype over who will be taking the roles ahead of the actual casting. Many netizens in fact are already posting and discussing furiously over who their ideal cast should be since the news broke yesterday.

With regards to the Korean F4, the production team revealed, “We will be choosing based on their similarities with the anime characters. We won’t be choosing based on how popular or how well-known they are.” The Korean version of Hanayori Dango is set at 24 episodes, each clocking in at 70 minutes and will be shown on television in the latter part of 2008.

Another Big Bang in the making!!!

YG Entertainment plans to debut a spanking new girl group this summer. Members of the yet untitled group will include Park Bom, CL, and Gong Min Ji.

YG claims that this group will be like the female Big Bang in the sense that their music will be different from what’s currently out right now. But by praising their likeness to Big Bang, doesn’t that just automatically undermine the group’s originality?

Judging by their stiff dancing, karaoke singing, and cringe-worthy rapping, this girl group isn’t much to go ga-ga over. For one, they need to quit butchering all of my favorite songs with their fobby Engrish.

Pop or flop: Son Dambi’s corset!!!

Once referred to as the female version of Rain, Son Dambi pushes the fashion envelope with this corset top (ranging so far in light pink and blue) with white jeans.

New boy band alert! Shinee

Is there is a need for another boy band? Hopefully this one will be fresh..but that might be asking too much.

Shinee (pronounced “shine-ee”) is the brainchild of SM Entertainment. The boy band will have 5 members- Jong-hyun, Min-ho, Tae-min, On-yu, and Key ranging in age of 14 to 18 years old.

Shinee is already being compared to a younger, Dong-bang-shin-ki. Will Shinee give the DSBK boys a run for their money?

Shinee release their first music video and mini album on May 22^nd, 2008.

Wondergirls go cute n’ sexy

JYP Entertainment released some teaser pictures for the Wondergirls’ next album. The concept will be “cute n’ sexy” instead of the “retro cute” for the current album.

I guess leopard print must be the sexy and the cute must be the football player hotties…

What do Lee Honey, Hines Ward and Super Junior have in common?

Lee Honey, Hines Ward and Super Junior participated in “SBS Hope TV 24: We are one family.” The boys of Super Junior (Lee Teuk, Kangin, Shin Dong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk and Yehsung) also partook in the 24 hour Hope marathon (70 km) held on the 10th.

SBS Hope TV 24 raised funds for the education of multi-racial children in Korea.

Hines Ward created the Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation to help mixed-race children in Korea where they have suffered discrimination.
